Retaliation Suit Over Suspected Tax Fraud Reporting May Proceed

An Ohio medical services provider must face the lawsuit of former employee who says he was wrongfully terminated after internally reporting the company’s suspected tax fraud, a federal court said.

Northern Ohio Medical Specialists LLC’s former financial controller, Shawn Biggins, told the US District Court for the Northern District of Ohio that his employer had illegally retaliated against him by terminating his employment, in violation of whistleblower protections under the Taxpayer First Act.
