Republicans ‘Far From’ Deal on SALT Limit, New Yorker Says

House Republicans from high-tax states remain at loggerheads with the Senate GOP over limits on the state and local tax deduction despite a meeting with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to try to resolve differences, a New York lawmaker said.

“We are far from a deal still,” Representative Nick LaLota, a Republican who represents parts of New York’s Long Island, said late Wednesday afternoon.
