More than 20 high-ranking former federal officials, including ex-US cyber chief Chris Krebs and ex-National Cyber Director Chris Inglis, urged a New York federal court to dismiss a lawsuit alleging SolarWinds Corp. downplayed security threats to investors over the massive 2019 Russian cyberattack which compromised government networks.

The Securities and Exchange Commission’s enforcement action against SolarWinds and its chief information security officer could discourage information sharing between future victims and the federal government over security threats, the officials said in their friend-of-the-court brief filed late Friday in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.
