Sen. Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.) said Thursday that lawmakers were considering altering her bipartisan cryptocurrency legislation to align it more closely with a senior House Republican’s proposal for securities regulation.
Lummis, who wrote legislation last year with Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) codifying a legal framework for digital assets, said they might change the Senate bill amid negotiations with Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-N.C.), chairman of the House Financial Services Committee.
