Senate Democrats are pressing Finance Chairman Chuck Grassley to hold a hearing on tax policies that would incentivize more low-emission energy usage.
Twenty-seven Senate Democrats, led by Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), noted in a Tuesday letter that nearly three dozen different energy tax bills have been introduced—including 19 bills sponsored by members of the Finance panel.
“Gaps in the tax code have disadvantaged complementary technologies that could improve climate resiliency and provide additional emissions reductions,” the lawmakers wrote.
