Senate Republicans say they are willing to block the $78 billion bipartisan tax deal if they don’t get input, even after the House passed the legislation by a large majority this week.
Over 350 lawmakers in the fractious House voted in favor of the bill that pairs the renewal of business tax breaks with a child tax credit expansion, sending the measure to the Senate. Despite the large bipartisan vote, Senate Republicans still want their say, with a couple suggesting they may not be on board at all.
