Senate GOP Skeptical of Trump Audit Immunity in IRS Settlement

Some Senate Republicans are criticizing an agreement giving President Donald Trump immunity from audits, something that has gotten renewed attention after the White House decided to abandon a controversial “anti-weaponization” fund this week amid GOP pushback.

“I need it dead, dead,“ said Sen. John Curtis (R-Utah), who added that the provisions on audit immunity are “part of the problem“ and need to be addressed in addition to the fund.
