Senate Health Credit Negotiators Are Undeterred After Trump Plan

Key senators pursuing a bipartisan deal to extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits appear resolved to push forward with their negotiations, despite the Trump administration releasing its own health care plan Thursday that didn’t address the subsidies.

Congress has been in turmoil about how to address expired changes to premium subsidies that made them more generous and lifted an income cap. Enrollees have been hit with higher premium costs due to enhancements that ended at the end of 2025.
