Shakira Producer Hit With $1.2 Million Tax Bill From IRS

Jerry “Wonda” Duplessis, a music producer who’s worked with Shakira, The Fugees, Michael Jackson, Carlos Santana, and others, owes the IRS more than $1.2 million in back taxes, according to a lawsuit filed against him Tuesday by the IRS.

Duplessis’ tax bill originates from three separate tax years, the earliest of which is 2008, according to the complaint filed in New Jersey federal court. The $1.2 million figure the agency cited includes interest and penalties he’s already accrued, but the IRS noted that additional interest and penalties continue to pile up.
