House GOP Split Over Health-Care Fight

While Obamacare subsidies remain a flashpoint for the shutdown—more on that in a moment—one group is warning the funding cutoff could impact care for patients who need organ transplants.

The United Network for Organ Sharing has furloughed more than 90 employees, whose salaries the Trump administration has indicated they won’t cover during the shutdown, according to an emailed statement to Bloomberg Government. UNOS works as a federal contractor that manages the national transplant waiting list used to match patients with organs across the country.
