Simpson Thacher Hires Chris Ludwig to Lead Activism Defense

Simpson Thacher & Bartlett has hired former investment banker Christopher Ludwig to lead its shareholder engagement and activism defense practice.

Ludwig, who had been a managing director at Barclays Plc., will join the law firm’s mergers and acquisitions group as a partner in New York, according to a statement seen by Bloomberg News. A representative for Barclays declined to comment.
