The Slovak Ministry of Finance March 11 opened a consultation on a draft DTA with Sri Lanka, and draft resolution for the National Council’s consent to it. The draft DTA includes measures to: 1) reflect the OECD Model Convention, the UN Model Convention, and the recommendations and minimum standards of the OECD base erosion and profit shifting (BEPS) project; 2) set withholding tax rates of up to 7.5 percent or up to 10 percent for dividends; and 3) set withholding tax rates of up to 5 percent for interest and up to 10 percent for royalties.
