Solar Shares Rise on Aid to Renewables Included in Spending Deal

Clean energy stocks rose as details of a spending package agreed to in the U.S. Congress emerged, revealing tax credits for wind, solar and projects that store carbon dioxide in the ground.

Sunrun Inc., the biggest U.S. residential solar installer, rose as much as 3.4%. SunPower Corp. climbed as much as 7.4%. JinkoSolar Holding Co., one of the world’s biggest publicly traded panel producers, jumped 10.6%. And Gevo Inc., a maker of advanced biofuels, surged as much as 18%.
