Special Trial Judge Retirement Adds to Vacancies at Tax Court

The Tax Court announced the retirement of Special Trial Judge Robert N. Armen Jr. in a Sept. 4 press release.

Armen, who officially retired Aug. 31, was appointed as Special Trial Judge in 1993. He previously worked in the Office of Chief Counsel for the IRS and as an adjunct professor at University of Baltimore Law School and Northern Virginia Community College.

Armen worked as a law clerk to Judge Howard A. Dawson Jr. and assistant clerk of the court and as deputy counsel to the Chief Judge, according to the press release.
