Staff Swap: House Budget, Ways and Means Trade Staff Directors

The House Ways and Means and Budget committees are swapping Republican staff directors as new chairs take the reins.

Mark Roman, the current GOP staff director at the House Committee on Budget, is taking over for outgoing Ways and Means staff director Gary Andres, according to a House GOP aide.

Andres will move over to Roman’s post at the Budget panel.

Roman follows Rep. Jason Smith (R-Mo.), who was the ranking member at the Budget committee, to Ways and Means. Smith was named chairman of the tax-writing Ways and Means earlier this month.
