Switzerland Moves to Adopt Standardized Global Tax Reporting

Switzerland’s government is seeking feedback on a proposal to supplement domestic global minimum tax rules with a standardized reporting format.

The proposal issued by the Federal Council on Wednesday would implement the reporting format known as the GloBE Information Return, or GIR, which is designed to provide tax authorities with information on the effective tax burden of corporate groups subject to global minimum tax rules.

The public consultation runs through Aug. 20.
