House and Senate lawmakers said they hope to quickly advance a newly released version of a treaty-like deal for US and Taiwanese businesses operating in the two countries aimed at alleviating double taxation.
The new legislation was unveiled ahead of a Thursday Ways and Means Committee markup, where the panel will consider the Taiwan bill alongside several other proposals, including a bipartisan bill that would update the rules around tax-deductible donations to veterans service organizations and another to terminate the tax-exempt status of terrorist-supporting organizations.
