Former U.S. Tax Court Judge Richard C. Wilbur died on Dec. 27, the court announced.
Wilbur was appointed to the bench by President Richard M. Nixon in July 1974 and stepped down in 1987, according to an announcement posted by Chief Judge Maurice B. Foley.
- Wilbur, a graduate of Notre Dame Law School, also worked in the IRS Chief Counsel’s Office and as minority counsel for the House Ways and Means Committee, according to an obituary published in the Times Herald-Record.
