Gilbert Rothenberg, chief of the Appellate Section of the Department of Justice’s Tax Division, will be leaving the department on Nov. 1.
Rothenberg announced the move on Oct. 4 at the American Bar Association Tax Section meeting in San Francisco.
He said he wouldn’t be staying away from the tax area, and plans to continue teaching.
- Rothenberg has worked at the Tax Division over his entire career, according to a faculty profile.
- Rothenberg is an adjunct professor at two law schools: American University’s Washington College of Law and George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School.
