Lawmakers are pondering how to tackle a potential tax extenders package in the next few months, even as a looming government funding deadline needs to be addressed first.
Few expect substantive tax policy to make its way across the legislative gauntlet after Republicans enacted their megabill in July. But enough tax breaks stand on the precipice of expiration to lead lawmakers to ponder more changes to the code over the next four months.
