Tax advisory firms Stenson Tamaddon LLC and ERC Today LLC failed to state a good cause for exceeding an Arizona federal court’s page limits when they asked to preliminarily block the IRS from automatically processing their clients’ pandemic tax relief claims, the court said.

StenTam and ERC Today, which sued the IRS last month, told the US District Court for the District of Arizona that the IRS had unlawfully used automated filters to summarily deny refunds for claimed employee retention credits in violation of the Administrative Procedure Act.
