Charles Littlejohn, the former IRS contractor infamous for leaking the tax information of thousands of prominent companies and business leaders, is headed to the DC Circuit in an effort to reduce his sentence.
The US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit will hear oral arguments Tuesday over whether Littlejohn should be subject to the statutory maximum five-year sentence after pleading guilty to one count of unauthorized disclosure of tax return information.
The former Booz Allen Hamilton employee argues that his lack of a prior criminal record warrants a shorter sentence.
