Tax Writers Seek Stable IRS Leadership
Key senators are seeking more stability at the top of the IRS after the abrupt departure last month of its commissioner.
Former IRS Commissioner Billy Long’s brief tenure was the latest in a series of short-term leaders of the tax administration agency, which is tasked with implementing Republicans’ landmark tax-and-spending bill.
