Texas Comptroller Publishes Guidance on Energy Star Sales Tax Holiday

The Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts announced that the 2026 tax-free Energy Star sales tax holiday will be held May 23, 2026, through May 25, 2026. The energy star sales tax holiday exempts certain energy efficient products purchased during the tax holiday from sales tax. Some qualifying products include air conditioners under $6,000, refrigerators under $2,000, ceiling fans, light bulbs, clothes washers, dishwashers, and dehumidifiers. [Tex. Comptroller of Pub.
