The US can take the real property of a Texas married couple who have a decade of unpaid taxes, after they failed to defend the case against them, a federal court said.
Judge Kathleen Cardone granted default judgment against physician Manuel Aranda Jr. and his wife, realtor Melissa Marie Aranda, who failed to pay their income taxes from 2013 to 2022. The ruling will allow a foreclosure on their El Paso property, upon which the US filed a federal tax lien in 2019.
