Texas franchise taxpayers will have an additional month to file their reports originally due May 15, as the state continues to adjust filing deadlines following a historic winter storm.
Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar on Thursday announced the automatic extension to June 15, which won’t require taxpayers to file any additional forms.
Used as the state’s primary business tax, the revenue stream from the franchise tax will be worth an estimated $9 billion to Texas for the 2022-23 biennium, according to a January biennial revenue estimate by the state.
