Thailand Approves Tax Cuts on Alcohol, Nightclubs to Aid Tourism

Thailand’s cabinet announced Tuesday excise tax cuts for alcoholic beverages and entertainment venues in an effort to boost tourism.

Wine will be taxed at 5% and spirits at 0%, a reduction from the 10% tax originally levied on both products. Excise tax on entertainment venues will be halved from 10% to 5%.

The measures are set to expire at the end of this year.
