Top House GOP Tax Staffer Theurer Heading to Trump Treasury

Derek Theurer, the top tax adviser to House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), is heading for a new job at the Treasury Department, which is staffing up after President Donald Trump took over for his second term this week.

“With his deep experience in tax policy, Derek will play a critical role in advancing America First priorities, particularly as we focus on budget reconciliation and work to deliver the President’s economic agenda,” Johnson said in a statement provided to Bloomberg Tax.
