Top Italian Court Rejects Transfer Pricing Cases Against GE

Italy’s supreme court in two rulings upheld lower‑court decisions annulling transfer pricing assessments against an Italian company in the General Electric multinational group.

The Italian tax authorities failed to prove that GE Medical Systems Italia s.p.a. overpaid for purchases of medical equipment from related companies, including the French company GE Medical Systems CS and GE Co. in the United States, the Corte Suprema di Cassazione confirmed in its rulings released March 25 and published on the court’s website over the weekend.
