Treasury Hits Goal of 100,000 Taxpayers Using E-File Pilot (1)

The Treasury Department Monday announced it reached its goal of 100,000 taxpayers successfully filing their tax returns as part of the Direct File pilot program, the agency said.

Treasury said it hit the goal at midday April 14, and that more than 50,000 taxpayers successfully filed over the past week using Direct File.

Eligible taxpayers in pilot states can file their tax returns using Direct File until 11:59 p.m. on Monday, a Treasury official said in a statement, and eligible taxpayers in Massachusetts will have until 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday.
