The Treasury Department on Friday proposed regulations that would update points of contact within the Department of Justice and the IRS following the elimination of the DOJ’s tax division.
The proposed regulations, RIN 1545-BR65, would amend procedure and administration regulations under Sections 6103, 6402, 7430, and 7433 of the tax code. It updates new points of contact for “matters involving internal revenue laws.”
It would also update contacts at the IRS for administrative claim submissions from taxpayers who are seeking civil damages for unauthorized collections.
