The Treasury Department is creating a new system of records to receive tips about suspected waste, fraud, abuse, and other misuse of federal funds.
Treasury is creating the system because of an executive order directing the department to establish a strategy to eliminate fraud, according to a proposed rule released Tuesday to exempt the new system from the Privacy Act of 1974.
