New Uncertainty for Wind and Solar Projects
The executive order President Donald Trump issued late Monday directing his Treasury Department to “strictly enforce” the GOP tax law’s rollback of wind and solar tax credits is prompting developers in the industries to rethink what it means to qualify for the credits.
The directive came days after House conservatives said they got assurances from the president, allowing them to put aside concerns about the clean energy credits and vote for the measure. Democrats enacted the credits as part of a sweeping 2022 tax-and-climate law Republicans are now dismantling.
