The U.S. continues to hammer home its message for countries considering unilateral measures to tax tech giants: Don’t do it.
The U.S. ambassador to Poland called unilateral plans to levy digital taxes on large tech companies “self-destructive” in an op-ed piece published March 1 by Rzeczpospolita, a major Polish daily.
“They are a signal that foreign investment in the digital sector is not welcome,” Georgette Mosbacher wrote. “As a result, they only discourage investments in technologies and innovations” in countries that seek to attract them, she added.
