UK Filmmakers Can Soon Start Applying for Higher Tax Credit

UK studios that produce films costing up to £15 million ($19.6 million) will soon be able to claim an increased tax relief of 53% on qualifying expenditure.

The government issued implementing regulations for the credit Wednesday, which are set to take effect on Oct. 30, MP Chris Bryant said in a statement issued to the House of Commons. Film production companies will be able to apply for an eligibility certificate from the British Film Institute from Oct. 30.
