The UK is amending reporting regulations for digital platforms to ensure domestic sellers provide information directly to the national tax authority rather than in other jurisdictions, His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs said Monday.
The changes will update reporting obligations for platform operators that took effect last year. The regulations are based on the work of the Organization for Economic Development and Cooperation rules for reporting requirements for sellers in the gig economy.
