UK Seeks Input on Simplifying R&D Relief Programs

The UK is looking for comments on plans to simplify its research and development tax-relief program, the Treasury said Friday.

In a public consultation, the Treasury set out proposals for a single R&D relief program. It would replace two existing programs, one targeted at small- and medium-sized businesses and another at large companies.

“Getting R&D tax relief right and fit for the future sits at the heart of making sure the UK remains a competitive location for cutting-edge research—helping new firms grow,” said Victoria Atkins MP, Financial Secretary to the Treasury.
