UN Group Meets Behind Closed Doors to Find Tax Treaty Compromise

A United Nations committee seeking to lay the foundations of a future global treaty on tax cooperation will meet over the weekend to find compromises between developed and developing nations on the scope and structure of the deal.

Committee Chair Ramy Youssef and the group’s staff are holding invitation-only informal meetings Friday with member states that still hold conflicting views about the treaty’s foundational text, known as the draft terms of reference, after two weeks of debate and negotiation in New York.
