A United Nations committee began looking at ways to avoid stepping on the work of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development on Tuesday, as it draws up the foundations of a global tax treaty pushed for by developing nations.

Developed economies—including the US, Germany, Italy, Austria, and Korea—raised concerns that a draft text that would inform the treaty doesn’t contain a high-level reference to avoiding duplication with the OECD’s existing multilateral tax work.
