UN to Aim for Guidance on Wealth Taxes, Carbon Taxes, Gender

The United Nations approved plans Friday to help developing countries tax high-net-worth individuals, expand carbon taxes, and build tax systems that support gender equality.

The body’s committee of tax experts, whose mandate is to write guidance to help developing countries raise tax revenue, adopted the measures on the last day of meetings this week to map out its agenda for the next four years.
