United Kingdom Gazettes Statutory Instrument on Effective Dates for New DTA, Protocol With Romania

The United Kingdom Official Gazette Dec. 10 published Statutory Instrument No. 1302/2025, on the effective dates for the new DTA and protocol with Romania, signed Nov. 13, 2024, to replace the 1975 DTA between the countries. The arrangements will apply from: 1) Jan. 1 of the calendar year following the entry into force of the DTA, for all taxes in Romania; 2) assessment years beginning on or after April 6 following the date on which the DTA enters into force, for income tax and capital gains tax in the U.K.; and 3) financial years beginning on or after April 1 ...
