Vietnam PM Orders Crackdown on Trade Fraud, Counterfeit Goods

Vietnam’s prime minister vowed to step up the fight against trade fraud, smuggling and counterfeit goods, as the nation seeks to address longstanding issues that have proved a sticking point in US tariff negotiations.

Pham Minh Chinh ordered a task force be set up to combat the illegal transport of counterfeit goods of Vietnamese origin being exported to other countries, the production and trade of counterfeit goods, and goods that infringe intellectual property rights, according to a post on the government website.
