Virginia Amends County Admissions Tax Authority

The Virginia Governor signed a law amending the code to authorize counties to levy a local admissions tax of up to 10 percent on event tickets. The law removes previous restrictions, allowing high-tourism area counties to implement the tax and increase local revenue. The law takes effect July 1.
