Walmart Inc. is asking the Treasury Department to consolidate a pair of filing requirements related to the global tax deal and recent US tax law into a single report to ease administrative burdens and compliance costs.
The retail giant requested in a letter sent in late January that returns related to the repeal of certain parts of Section 898 be combined covering a 13-month period instead of requiring companies to file a 12-month return and a one-month short period return.
