Warren Queries ConocoPhillips, Ovintiv Inc on Lobbying Efforts

Senator Elizabeth Warren and some of her Democratic colleagues write to the CEOs of ConocoPhillips and Ovintiv Inc.about the companies’ lobbying efforts that could grant oil companies a “$1.1 billion tax loophole” in the new tax bill supported by President Trump.

• The letters to Ovintiv’s Brendan McCracken and ConocoPhillips’ Ryan Lance ask how much they plan to spend on lobbying efforts regarding Republican tax legislation in total this year, according to the text of the letters
• The letters also inquire how much the companies donated to politicians advocating for tax cuts benefiting the companies
