Washington Enacts Millionaires Tax

The Washington Governor signed a law that includes imposing an income tax on high-income earners. Beginning Jan. 1, 2028, a 9.9 percent income tax is imposed on taxable incomes over $1 million per year. The law generally takes effect on June 11, except as otherwise provided.
