Washington Modifies Solar Energy, Data Centers Tax Laws

The Washington Governor signed a law modifying certain tax laws related to solar energy, solar manufacturing, and data centers. The key changes include: 1) extending preferential tax rates for manufacturers and wholesalers of solar energy materials; 2) expanding eligibility criteria for tax exemptions on server equipment and power infrastructure; and 3) adding sustainability requirements for new data centers starting in 2025.
