Williams & Connolly Partner Admits $7 Million in Tax Liabilities

A Williams & Connolly partner and his wife agreed they owe more than $7 million in tax liabilities from tax years between 2001 and 2016.

The couple, Robert J. Shaughnessy and Susan J. Shaughnessy, filed a joint motion with the government on Monday, asking the US District Court for the District of Columbia to enter a judgment that their liabilities over 11 past tax years totaled $7,258,580.52 as of Jan. 16, 2023, and that they also owe interest and tax additions accruing since then. Judge Christopher R. Cooper entered that judgment Tuesday.
