Wyden Plans Partnership Crackdown Ahead of 2025 Tax Talks

Senate Finance Chair Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) is aiming to revive his proposal to restrict tax breaks for partnerships before 2025, when Congress will negotiate a major tax package and partnership taxation will be front and center.

The Senate’s top tax writer said next year is the time to address issues like partnership rules. Much of the Republicans’ 2017 tax law expires at the end of 2025, and Democrats are making a push to crack down on wealthy tax avoidance in next year’s negotiations.
