March 18, 2026, 8:29 PM UTC

The Wyoming Governor signed a law to amend taxation and revenue laws by establishing a license tax of 3.5 cents per kilowatt hour on electricity sold at DC fast charging stations for electric vehicles, while also reducing the annual decal fee for plug-in hybrid vehicles to $50. The law includes exempting alternative fuels from sales taxation when they’re subject to the alternative fuels tax and requiring charging stations to display per kilowatt hour prices, including all applicable taxes. The law takes effective July 1, 2026. [H.B. 145, enacted 03/07/26]
